Research & Teaching Festival


History of the Festival

Every spring, the School of Education & Human Sciences hosts the Research & Teaching Festival, where SOEHS faculty are invited to give short, TED-style talks on wide variety of topics in the field of education & human sciences. Speakers are given five minutes each to present on their topic, followed by five minutes for audience questions.

2024 School of Education & Human Sciences Research & Teaching Festival

During the 2024 Research & Teaching Festival on February 2, scholars in the School of Education & Human Sciences at the University of Kansas covered diverse topics including artificial intelligence, Name Image & Likeness (NIL) and creative communities in Iceland.

2023 School of Education & Human Sciences Research & Teaching Festival

During the 2023 Research & Teaching Festival on February 17, scholars in the School of Education & Human Sciences at the University of Kansas shared new research and developments in their fields. Their 5-minute presentations covered diverse topics including youth sport typology, histories of Black writing in Lawrence, Kansas, and healthy intimate relationships among LGBTQ collegians.

During the 2022 Research & Teaching Festival on February 25, scholars in the School of Education & Human Sciences at the University of Kansas shared new research and developments in their fields. Their 5-minute presentations covered diverse topics including gamification of learning, school discipline and social-emotional learning.
