Orientation is your next step in joining the KU Jayhawk community.  Orientation will provide you opportunities to 1) Discover what it means to be a KU student, 2) Engage with other new and current students, and 3) Learn how to belong with your fellow Jayhawk community.  

Freshman Orientation

The Office of First Year Experience at KU coordinates Orientation, Hawk Week, Hawk Days, and UNIV 101. They offer multiple orientation sessions throughout the summer, and these orientation sessions provide an opportunity to learn about campus resources, receive academic advising, and assistance enrolling in courses.  KU First-Year Experience programs are designed to intellectually engage you as a student, and to introduce you to campus resources and opportunities for experiential learning.  Please visit their website to find out more and sign up today.

Transfer Orientation

The Office of First Year Experience at KU coordinates OrientationHawk WeekHawk Days, and UNIV 101. They offer multiple transfer orientation sessions throughout the summer designed specifically for students just like you transferring from other colleges and universities.

Professional Program Orientation

Undergraduate students at KU who have been admitted to a professional program (teacher education or HSES) in the School of Education are required to attend a professional program orientation to complete their admission process. Agenda items include an overview of the major and its requirements, unique study abroad opportunities, student organizations for School of Education majors, and career planning information. Students are provided the professional program orientation date/time/location information in their admission letters. View the event calendar for upcoming dates.

Graduate Student Orientation

Graduate students at KU are invited to attend the annual Jayhawk Welcome and Information Fair. Representatives from offices across campus will be available to answer your questions about their services and opportunities. For additional activities, please see the Graduate Studies Events page.  In addition to the annual graduate fair, many academic departments within the KU School of Education offer you an orientation experience that is specific to your department or program.  Please connect with your academic department for more information. Graduate students are also encouraged to review the Student Stage Guide.

KU Edwards Campus Orientation
