Preparing Educators as Leaders

Admission for Pre-Education Students at KU

During your first year at KU as a Pre-Education student, you will complete a good portion of your general education requirements within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).  In addition to your classes the first year, you'll work very closely with the KU School of Education Pre-Education Advising Staff to prepare for the application and admission process required to become a fully-admitted KU School of Education student.  So... let's recap:

Step 1) Apply online to KU as an incoming freshman (or as a transfer student), self-identified as a Pre-Education major with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences - CHECK!

Step 2) Consult with your academic advisor to investigate program options and discover your deeper purpose within the KU School of Education - CHECK!

Step 3) Apply online to the undergraduate professional program during your first (or second) year at KU, to enroll as an Education major with the School of Education.
