New licensure procedures begin for all out-of-state applicants. Kansas applicants will continue to receive certificates until Sept. 1, 2004. Provisional applications will require proof of a job and a "plan of study" letter from the Certification Officer.
Sept. 1, 2003
No-fault subject exams will be required for all initial applicants and adding endorsements. ETS (Educational Testing Service) will offer exams for the first time in Kansas during late September and scores will not be available until around Nov. 1.
Sept. 1, 2004
All applicants will be issued a license, not a certificate, regardless of program completed (old or new). Conditional Licenses will require performance assessments to upgrade to the 5-year Professional License. Performance assessments (portfolio or internship) will be no-fault for about a year.
Spring 2005
Minimum passing scores will be set for all subject exams.
Sept. 1, 2005
Applicants are required to have passing scores on subject exams.
July 1, 2006
All students finishing current (old) programs must have completed all requirements before this date.
