Preparing Educators as Leaders

Incoming Freshman

As a high school junior or senior, we are excited to know that you are already interested in serving your community as an educator and/or wellness professional.  We also know the college decision process can be very overwhelming.  Let us help you!

Because the School of Education is considered a professional school at the University of Kansas, our students are admitted as freshmen to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) as self-identified Pre-Education majors.  During your first year at KU as a Pre-Education student, you will complete a good portion of your general education requirements within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

In addition to your classes, you'll work very closely with the KU School of Education Pre-Education Advising Staff to prepare for the application and admission process required to become a fully-admitted School of Education student.  The first step in getting started is to apply to the University of Kansas.

Visit the KU Office of Admissions web site to get started now.
