KU on WheelsKU on Wheels, the University of Kansas bus system, provides transportation for individuals to and from campus. This service operates when KU classes are in session. In order to board, you must have a bus pass or pay a $1.00 fee. Visit the KU on Wheels site to find out about routes and purchasing a bus pass.
By participating in the Park & Ride system, a KU student, faculty, or staff member receives a parking permit for a 1500-space Park & Ride lot on west Campus (near 23rd & Iowa) and a KU on Wheels bus pass. A Park & Ride Express bus transports passengers to the Main Campus. Anyone may ride the Park & Ride Express buses without a bus pass or fare. The Park & Ride Express features new buses which are easily accessible to persons with disabilities, including those using wheelchairs. SafeRide is a free taxi service for KU students that operates from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. seven days a week when school is in session. SafeRide provides students with safe transportation to their homes.
LiftVan is a paratransit program that provides door-to-door transportation service for students with permanent or temporary disabilities.
Johnson County’s transit service, The JO, is now offering a K-10 connector shuttle which operates between Lawrence and Overland Park. The route allows students to travel from the Main Campus and Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence to the Edwards Campus and Johnson County Community College in Overland Park.
