West Junior High 7-9 (learning strategies)

Any but Wednesday – 9:00 to 9:45, 10:39 to 11:25, 12:05 to 12:44, or 1:35 to 2:20

Being an “extra help” for students with homework in a learning strategies classroom
Kennedy Elementary 4 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday 11:00 - 11:30, or 2:30 – 3:00

America Reads volunteer. Helping the student with reading fluency and comprehension, writing, and spelling.

West Junior High 7 Social Studies Any day Monday-Friday 9:45 to 11:25, or Day 2 (block schedule) 8:08 to 9:45

Helping 7th graders read and process information in a social studies classroom

West Junior High Junior High Math Lab - Thursday or Friday at 12:45 to 1:30 or
-Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday 1:30 to 3:00

Help tutor students in junior high math lab class

West Junior High 7 Math Anytime during the day

General help for 7th grade math classes (actual teaching possibilities)

Broken Arrow Elementary 3 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 – 8:30 or 11:30 to 12:00

America Reads volunteer. Helping child read to grade level by the end of the year.

West Junior High 7 Math Varies (many time slots throughout the day)

General help with 7th grade math students

Hillcrest Elementary 4 Thursday, or Friday 9:00 – 10:30

America Reads Volunteer. Help child with reading comprehension through choral reading, buddy reading, and support with classroom activities.

Hillcrest Elementary 5 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday 11:30 – 12:00

America Reads Volunteer. Helping an ESL student with her reading comprehension and level by having the student read to tutor.

South Junior High 7 & 8, Math

Block scheduling: 9:00 – 9:30, 12:30 – 1:00, or 1:50 to 2:20 on varying days

In-class help for 7th and 8th grade math classroom

Cordley Elementary 4 Monday 8:35 to 9:45

Tutoring math with computation and fact practice (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) through games and word problems.

Southwest Junior High 7 Language Arts, Study Seminar, Communications Multiple times throughout the school day

Helping students with reader’s and writer’s workshops, helping students with Geometry and Algebra during a Study Seminar block, or helping students with research and speech writing during Communication block.  Duties depend on time of day.

Southwest Junior High Resource Room

During 6th Hour any day of the week (see http://swjhs.usd497.org/

Focus on small group work – help with classroom management in resource room.

Deerfield Elementary 5 Thursday 12:45 to 2:30

Helping with language arts block in 5th grade classroom (writing in the first half of block and reading in the second half).

Deerfield Elementary Art classroom Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:00 or any other day 2:00 to 3:00

General help in an elementary art education classroom

Langston Hughes Elementary 1 or 3 (after school) Tuesday and/or Thursday 4:15 to 5:00

Tutoring a male student with math and reading (either first or third grade available)

Langston Hughes Elementary 3

Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday 12:15 to 12:45 (pick 2 if possible)

Tutoring a male student with math and reading

Langston Hughes Elementary 5

Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays 3:00 to 3:40

Working one-on-one with students in a study hall session – help students complete homework or correct late assignments.

Quail Run Elementary 2 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday 2:50 to 3:30

Help with “at-risk” students in an intervention program for 2nd grade

West Junior High 7-9 anytime during after-school program (Thursdays especially)

General volunteer during the after-school program

Cordley Elementary 5 any day MTRF 9:30 to 10:00 or 2:00 to 3:00

Helping a small group of students by tutoring math -- tutor must prepare his or her own lesson plans

Cordley Elementary 5 any day MTRF 10:00 - 11:00

Practice reading with students to increase fluency -- monitor students progress during reading stations.

Southwest Junior High 7th Earth Science and Biology Monday, Tuesday, or Friday 9:51 to 1:32, or 1:36 to 3:10

General help in 7th grade science classes

Hillcrest Elementary Kindergarten Tuesdays 1:30 to 2:30

General help during language arts block

South Junior High 7, 8, 9 Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays anytime 8:00 to 3:08

Tutoring math and reading

South Junior High 7, 8, 9 Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays 3:15 to 4:30

Tutoring math and reading during after school program
