School Psychology

The School Psychology Program is a unique professional program within the School of Education, administered through the Department of Psychology and Research in Education. The program is coordinated by a committee composed of representatives from the Department of Psychology and Research in Education and school psychology students. The program offers both the Ed.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The Ph.D. program is accredited by the American Psychological Association*. Both the Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the Kansas State Department of Education.

Faculty:

Steven W. Lee, PhD - General and test anxiety in children and youth; school program evaluation; functional behavior assessment; classroom-level observations and interventions; student assistance teams.

Patricia Lowe, PhD - Anxiety in children, adolescents, and adults; behavioral and personality assessment; measurement; prevention; neuropsychology

Matthew Reynolds, Ph.D. - Psychometric structure and measurement of human cognitive abilities; latent variable modeling; and longitudinal modeling of developmental psychopathology

Julia Shaftel, PhD - School psychology and learning disabilities, assessment and management of learning and behavior problems, large-scale assessment of students with special needs, attitude and behavior assessment.
