The University of Kansas Athletic Training Education Program shall provide a quality education emphasizing the practical component and the application of the Athletic Training Educational Competencies and Clinical Proficiencies. The Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences Athletic Training Education Program is committed to the education and preparation of students for future careers in Athletic Training.
The philosophy of the University of Kansas Athletic Training Education Program is to provide early exposure to hands-on experience to students interested in pursuing a career in Athletic Training. The clinical education experience focuses on quality hands-on learning within a variety of athletic training settings. Every effort is made to provide each student athletic trainer with the following experiences:

The mission of the Athletic Training Education Program at the University of Kansas is to prepare students for the BOC Certification Examination and careers in athletic training by providing quality coursework and offering exposure to a variety of clinical education experiences and allied health professionals.
The Athletic Training Education Program develops students who are clinically competent and independent-thinking health care providers. Program graduates are prepared to enter the profession of Athletic Training with a comprehensive education experience that is enhanced through the interaction of their classroom, clinical, and professional education experiences.
