Graduate Practicum

Most graduate practicum experiences require the student to complete a health/TB form, or provide proof that they have had one completed recently. Many districts also require the student to obtain personal liability coverage. Please consult your faculty advisor or instructor about what forms and/or paperwork is required. He or she should also know if there is a specific handbook available for your experience and what is required of you during the practicum.

How to submit a Graduate Practicum request:

1. Meet with the faculty instructor and/or supervisor to get details about your practicum placement.
2. Fill out the Graduate Practicum Online Request form. Choose the district and/or site where you would like to complete your practicum. If you have a specific teacher in mind, put that information in the "Notes" field.
3. Email Melissa Robinson at mherm@ku.edu to notify her that you have completed this form.
4. Get any necessary TB/health forms and/or liability coverage paperwork completed and submitted to your faculty instructor or the Field Placement Office.
5. You will not receive an email confirming your placement. It is your responsibility to check the online Status Check periodically. Please contact your clinical supervisor and introduce yourself when you know your placement.
