Budig Professors

Gene Budig, KU’s Chancellor from 1981 through 1994, established an endowed fund through the Kansas University Endowment Association to create the Gene A. Budig Teaching Professorship in Education. He added to this fund in 2002 to establish the Gene A. Budig Teaching Professorship in Special Education. Both of these professorships recognize outstanding teaching. The recipients of the award deliver a formal lecture and represent the faculty at Convocation. The School of Education has since had many Budig Professorships.
