The School of Education Advising Center in Joseph R. Pearson Hall is home to admitted, pre-education, and prospective students interested in teaching and sport science. The Advising Center is staffed by professional advisors and peer advisors. The Center is active year-round serving current KU students, new KU students, prospective recruits, and transfer students. The busiest times of the year in the Advising Center are for pre-enrollment during the fall (late October/early November) and spring (late March/early April) semesters and New Student Orientation during June, July, and August.
Pre-education students are encouraged to make individual appointments with an advisor to check their progress and to make sure they are on track for applying to the School of Education. Prospective and transfer students can also make appointments to discuss the opportunities available within the School of Education.
Once students are admitted into the School of Education they will be allocated a specific advisor who they will work with throughout their undergraduate career. This advisor will help ensure the student is on track for graduating. Admitted students are strongly encouraged to meet with their advisor each semester.
